About Sara…

Hi, I’m Sara! Nice to meet you. Allow me to introduce myself…

I can’t remember a time without song.

As far back as my memory goes, whether I was heading to preschool or playing with stuffed animals, music has always been at the forefront of my mind. I was born in Illinois and lived near Chicago until I was seven. That year, I moved with my family to Los Angeles and set my sights on making music, acting, and performing whenever possible.

My life here in California has been full of adventure. I’ve had the honor of spending countless hours in studios and on stages doing what I love. Working on TV shows and films has been a joy (Providence, First Monday, Akeelah and the Bee) and I’m having fun seeing where the road goes.
When I was ten, I spent several months in New York, playing Young Carol Burnett in her Broadway show Hollywood Arms, under the direction of the fabulous Hal Prince. It was a crash course in art, professionalism, and life – and it truly shaped who I am.

One of my favorite things is just sitting down (with a mic, guitar, bass, or piano) and creating a new world. I love playing and writing lyrics and there’s something so natural about music as a medium for expression. When I’m not making music or performing, I love reading (I could get lost in a book for days!), drinking tea, helping out at my church, watching old film noir, or just talking to people (in person or via the internet if they’re not around).

I’ve been blessed to spend so much of my life doing what I love with others who inspire and lift me to new levels. Art is at the heart of my life and I’m excited to have this site to give you a window into my journey.
